Warranty and Service Information

WARRANTY STATEMENT

Our general warranty is 12 months from the date of sale (unless otherwise indicated). Other warranties include:

*1 Year unconditional, 2nd & 3rd years conditional on registration

In the event that Carsmetic accept a warranty claim, it is by no way acceptance of any liability for damage or personal injury caused as a result of the product’s failure.

EXCEPTIONS

The warranty does not include consumable items, routine maintenance, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear. Neither does it include return of goods for routine re-calibration or certification. Additional certification for insurance purposes is the responsibility of the purchaser.

Selected items are exempt from warranty and are stated separately on the product packaging or product itself.

Our guarantee will cover the individual replacement of any component which has failed as a result of defective material or manufacture.

It does not cover the replacement of an entire set of tools or product. It does not cover normal wear and tear, abuse or misuse.

PRIOR TO any Warranty Claim Please Contact Carsmetic for assistance on how best to proceed.

If your purchase is found to be faulty within 14 days of purchase, please contact Carsmetic by email on sales@carsmetic.biz We will recommend the best course of action to get the issue resolved.

If your purchase is outside the 14 day period you are still covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, the procedures for each of the main manufacturers is detailed below.

Cyclo Toolmakers
Contact Customer Services to return your product, where Carsmetic will arrange to repair it and return it. Cyclo products come with a 1 year warranty as standard. Please Note, you will require to produce your Carsmetic invoice as proof of purchase.

Sealey Power Products
Sealey products have a minimum 12 months warranty from date of sale. Contact our Customer Service Department on 0844 272 6510 who will arrange collection from you, repair and delivery back to you. There may be a charge for the carriage to and from the Sealey Service Agent. Warranty is covered worldwide. Please Note, you will require to produce your Carsmetic invoice as proof of purchase.

"WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW?

Because of the high cost of labour, we will not automatically prepare an estimate on any item sent to us for a chargeable repair. Instead we will automatically repair and return the item unless the cost of the repair exceeds the Average Repair Cost as outlined in the table below. If the cost of the repair exceeds the Average Repair Cost value we will estimate the cost of the repair. Remember, this is an estimate not a quote. A detailed invoice showing parts used will be provided with each repair. Repair costs indicated are at dealers’ nett prices; please add your own mark-up.

By returning machines to us for repair, you are authorising us to undertake the work up to the average cost of repair as indicated in the table below.

Of course labour cost is the reason for the high cost of repairs. Sealey stock more than £2,000,000 worth of spare parts at very competitive prices. Why not advise your customer to buy the parts and do the job himself?

REPAIR GUARANTEE

All authorised repairs made by and on behalf of Sealey are subject to a 6 months parts and labour guarantee. This applies to the parts fitted only.

IMPORTANT:

HYDRAULIC/LIFTING EQUIPMENT REPAIRS AND SERVICING
Please use our hydraulic service agents for all hydraulic repairs. They are authorised to arbitrate on warranty work. Do not return jacks or other hydraulic products to Bury St. Edmunds for servicing or repair. We do not handle them here due to the heavy cost of freight.

CARRIER COLLECTIONS
For customers not on a Sealey van delivery route we can arrange for a carrier to collect at competitive rates any item for repair or servicing by us at Bury St. Edmunds. Of course dealers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Offshore Islands will often find that freight costs prohibit returning items to us. In this case please verify prices with your local service agent.

TORQUE WRENCH CALIBRATION
We are now able to provide a torque wrench calibration service for customers wishing to have their Sealey torque wrenches recalibrated and certificated.

Note that a wrench returned for calibration will be calibrated and returned with a certificate of calibration. The costs above do not include any repairs to the returned wrench.
